Google Response to Viacom law suit against YouTube
Google file a response in the federal court in New York late Monday to Viacom’s law suit on March 13, arguing that YouTube has used digital technology to “wilfully infringe copyrights on a huge scale” by facilitating the unauthorised viewing of many pieces of Viacom’s programming form MTV, Comedy Central and other networks such as “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”.
In this response Google argues that YouTube respects the importance of copyrights and go above and beyond what is required under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. All the sites activities are therefore legal.
