Again I'm submitting to the obsession that is called blogging!
I guess this time is bcos i have a just came home from the full-day internet marketing seminar with a splitting headache and just can't resist the urge to have a little rant!
I realise that there are many of these kinda talks and seminars going ard these days..
Perhaps its due to the fact that S'poreans are so kiasu n will jump at anything that either offers them the chance to "upgrade" or to make lots of money (in whichever order preferred)!!
These guys kept pitching to us, trying to get us to buy more of their programmes or courses, all day!!
I mean we already paid them abt S$500 to be there.. being promised that by the time we left, we would be somewhat competent with the methods of internet marketing (i guess it was silly to have believed them in the 1st place!) and able to start with some kind of an internet business..
Of cos they tried to entice everyone with their reports of personal earnings of about USD$10k per month in sales revenue over the internet..
All this without a real, tangible product..
Hmmm... Yet i guess many people bought into it.. As far as i can tell anyways..
Personally, I’m not particularly convinced by their sales figures (perhaps because of my training I’m overly cynical) as I think they’re easily fabricated and not subject to any verification. After all, if they were really making that much money they wouldn’t be so keen on getting us to sign up for all these programmes/courses and giving all these freebies to the point that they almost sound desperate! I think, like all these Option/Share Trading seminars/courses, the speakers are probably earning much more from the seminars/courses than they are from their actual trading!
I’m also rather sceptical when it comes to the affiliate marketing system. It sounds too close to MLMs for my comfort. If you really think about it, if everyone at the seminar today, or any other of their seminars for that matter, were to sign up and have these resale rights to their products (which was one of the things they offerred), wouldn’t all of us by competing against each other and completely flooding the market? On that point alone, I fail to see how we could possibly generate those kinds of revenue! Maybe someone could explain..
Anyways.. i think that's enough ranting for one day.. i still can't believe that i'm keeping a blog.. I guess only time will tell how long this lasts! ;)
